I am microSYST …
... since I started my apprenticeship as a communications electronics technician at microSYST (then still in Weiden i.d.OPf.) in 1990. This was followed by electrical engineering studies in Regensburg and then a return to microSYST. I gained experience in production management, sales and finally as operations manager before taking over the company in 2013 through a management buy-out.
In 2017, we moved to the new company building directly at the A93 motorway in Windischeschenbach – in the heart of the Upper Palatinate. An exciting journey right from the start: as a technician who appreciates the often unrecognised innovative power of northern Bavaria and who is constantly driving the evolution of LED technology with his heart and soul. But also as a person who never loses sight of proximity and personal exchange with employees, customers, partners or suppliers.
I am microSYST …
... and really appreciate how people and technology at microSYST make a great joint project. As a young electrical engineer, this has excited me since I started at microSYST in 2002 – and it still fascinates me every day.
Starting in development, moving on to sales and sales management and finally to management, I am, so to speak, one of the company's "own developments". This is another reason why a healthy team spirit as well as in-company training and further qualification are particularly close to my heart. The reward: loyal employees, positive teamwork and lots of know-how. In this way, the best solutions for the specific requirements of our customers are (almost) automatically created.
In-house ideas and developments helped LED technology out of its infancy over 40 years ago and at the same time laid the foundation for the company's comprehensive technical know-how in this field. microSYST relies on state-of-the-art technology for its products and has constantly optimised its portfolio over the years. Today, microSYST also offers monitors with TFT technology for use in industrial environments. "If you want to be at the forefront and always deliver the best to your customers, you have to be open to technical solutions and never put on blinkers", emphasises owner and managing director Harald Kilian when talking about the forward-looking company philosophy. "Depending on the area of application, each technology has specific advantages. Weighing these up for the customer and using them without reservation in a solution-oriented manner is our claim and guiding principle. Because the best solution is always the one that fits the customer and his individual requirements."
In over 40 years as a developer and manufacturer, microSYST has brought its technical solutions to many different sectors – from industry to trade, logistics, infrastructure and public institutions. With around 50 employees, microSYST develops and produces smart visualisation solutions in all facets as well as order picking systems, from pick-by-light to scanner-based solutions. For each of the approximately 1,000 orders per year, the absolute focus is on the customer's interests and the specific requirements on site: "We work on a customer-specific basis and can meet almost any special requirement with our modular systems and our own software," says Managing Director Manuel Rass.
Active on international markets, at home in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria: for microSYST, this is a philosophy that is put into practice. Despite a global sales and customer network, everything comes together at the company headquarters in Windischeschenbach in the Upper Palatinate. With development, production and sales, microSYST offers versatile visualisation, innovative order picking and sustainable quality under one roof.
