The start of training marks the first step into a new adventure for all career starters. microSYST endeavours to offer its apprentices a particularly varied and exciting environment: In addition to early confidence in working independently, this also includes special trainee projects and swap days. This year, Jan Wamser and Livia Wiebe are starting their training adventure at the system electronics provider in Windischeschenbach.
Jan Wamser wants to become an electronics technician for devices and systems, while Livia Wiebe is pursuing a career in office management. Managing Director Manuel Rass took on the role of welcoming them: "The start of training is something very special for us too every year. Because you are the foundation of our success," said Rass, welcoming the new arrivals.
To make the first day in the new environment a little easier, the two were accompanied by apprentices from higher years of training as well as the trainers Katja Ermer, Florian Helgert and Moritz Busl. In addition to a round of introductions and organisational matters - such as the occupational safety briefing - a tour of the company was also included. The shared break for all the apprentices quickly created points of contact and helped to overcome any remaining reservations.
Wide range of applications and exchange days for more variety and insight
In addition to variety, apprentices at microSYST can expect a comprehensive and interconnected, cross-departmental approach. With administration, purchasing, sales, service & support, warehouse, work preparation, production and development, the entire value chain of microSYST's LED technology world is in its own hands and centred at the Windischeschenbach site. In this context, the apprentices can expect the obligatory change of departments during the course of their training as well as so-called swap days: here, apprentices swap to departments outside their field of expertise, for example to familiarise themselves with the processes in administration as an electronics technician or vice versa. Various apprentice projects are also planned on a regular basis.
Arriving: The own workplace as a "haven of peace"
After a mutual exchange on expectations and goals within the company training programme and a group photo to mark the start of training, a short PC briefing fol-lowed. In the afternoon, Jan Wamser and Livia Wiebe were able to get started at their workstations. "The start of training is always particularly exciting for new apprentices. Arriving at their first workplace almost serves as a haven of peace," remarks Rass with a slight wink. Either way, one thing is certain: The two will remember their first day at microSYST - as a successful start to a multifaceted adventure ...
